Yesterday we took a field trip to Malav, about a 90 minute drive from here. It's the site of what used to be the main Kripalu ashram in the 1950s and 1960s until he moved to Kayavarohan to build the temple. When he passed away in 1981, he was buried across the street from here and recently a new and towering temple and funerary monument (samhadi mandir) was built on that site. We went there first and saw the tomb site surrounded by hundreds of reliefs of Swami Kripalu in various yoga poses, then we got a tour of the ashram from Swami Amandliji, the main administrator/head of the current ashram. They served us lunch and showed us their guest quarters and land. They are building a shrine to Swami Kripalu's successor, Rajarshi Muni, who died in August, 2022. Since he has passed, there are not many people at the ashram.
